Short Form Poetry – Diminished Hexaverse – Long Distance Love

Time for another moment of chasing around poetry with Tiggy.  This time we’re looking at Diminished Hexaverse.    This form is a poem containing stanzas of 5 lines, then 4 lines, then 3 lines, then 2 lines, ending with one word. The syllables in each stanza correspond to the number of lines, i.e. 5 in each line in the first stanza, 4 in the second stanza and so on. This form may contain more than five stanzas.

She asked for a topic or word as well.  I chose for us long distance love.  Here’s what we came up with for this look:

Hers:

Tiggy's Hex
by Tiggy T

In a make-believe world
Full of pixels and codes
Feelings can flourish
Beyond our control
Finding matching souls

Long Distance Love
So pure and true
Sent from above
I share with you

I have fire,
And a temper,
But remember

I want
To learn

Peace

His:

(Diminished Hexaverse) Of Long Distance Love
by Michael Romani

Love loves what it loves
Your hands fit like gloves
When you touch my heart
As you have from start
Love loves what it loves

You're no further
Than our hearts beat
It'd be murder
To lose this beat

Sweet whisper
First kissed her
My blessing

So wrapped
We snapped

Truth

In my estimate, hers is the better.  Then again, I believe as we continue to grow closer and closer that each day reveals more and more that she will always be our better half.
