This is a poem based on a Wednesday evening Bible study centered on the meaning of Christ’s crucifixion as seen through the lens of understanding The Book of Leviticus:
by Michael Romani
Or so they say
When Jesus died
And Mary cried
Disciples sighed
Yes, Jesus died
He faced death
For the life of flesh
To atone for sins enmeshed
In the fabric of our souls
He paid our toll
Nothing less would suffice
To free us from our mistakes
Even as our souls shake
The Father gave His only son
So that victory would be won
