As is my usual custom at the short form poetry class I attempt to write at least two sometimes three poems in the form being taught. In this case, my second poem is dedicated to the Veteran that I assisted earlier today who sadly was dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (“PTSD”). Sometimes the battles after the battlefield are worse in the minds and hearts of my fellow veterans.
My heart, prayers and thoughts go out for these troubled souls. It is my honor and privilege to do my best to help some of these brave men and women who have paid a horrible price on behalf of our nation.

2 Falls hard
1 Stare
2 Blankly
3 Combat done
2 The fight
1 Just
2 Begun
3 Gold sweat nights
4 Paralyzed sights
3 Burning hot
2 With fear
1 He
2 Holds on
3 Combat gone
2 He cries
1 Scared
2 Courage
1 Same
