Reflections On Van Gogh

The IMA had a live actor presentation pertaining to Van Gogh.  Thinking on the talent and troubles of his life arrived at this:

Reflections On Van Gogh
by Michael Romani

Dizzying in the audacity
Of your painting and your poetry
We mere mortals tremble in awe
Wondering at your fall

A starry, starry night
Unsurpassed in brilliance
Your madness saw it's first light
As your soul lost its resilience

Swirling shadows marked daffodils
In a façade of graceful civility
When you took your life, you lost your will
While the tears you cried became your theology

Your shattering moments became mortified
In that divine madness often deified
Whispers of suffering heard in your creation
Like a lofty tincture that brought cessation

In the words that we could not hear
That we now find solemn and we revere
The distance felt, we wished was never near
... Lost in words we refused to hear
