“The world is more malleable than you think and it’s waiting for you to hammer it into shape.” – Bono, Musician and Social Activist
I remember watching U2 play at the US Festival a lifetime ago and telling my friends that there was a band that would go very far. As we were all into playing shred guitar or blues or jazz, many were dismissive at the time. The thing I thought defined U2’s potential to me was that they were more than idealists. They had already begun to realize something that so many lose sight of in this world. Idealism requires action to be more than just dreams.
I won’t deny that dreams are nice. They are. But without action that’s all these are and what these will always remain.
If you see something that you want, you have to reach out and grab hold of it like it truly matters. Hard work and perseverance are the key to their fruition. Ever thing else is just idle thought and talk. You do not try for something that you want. You do your best.
Saying that you will try for something is just a ready made excuse for failure. At the risk of sounding like Yoda, there is only do or don’t do. That is perhaps the thing. You have to set your eyes on your goals and find out to get there and around obstacles. If you keep this in mind, there is almost no telling how far you will go or what you might achieve. History has proven this over and over again. So don’t just dream, go for it! Go for it with all your heart, strength and determination. Make your dreams happen!
