Tonight was the first meeting of the C.S. Lewis Study that Ally and I are holding at Aloha Promises Forever! We covered the first chapter of Mere Christianity and then used a study guide to review the key concepts covered.
Afterward, we relaxed and talked about how the event went and what might be done better.

Somehow what was intended to be a 45 minute reading with some questions afterward expanded to 2 hours. I suppose that means the study has had some measure of success. The downside is feeling a little disheveled at the end of it!! But, it was worth every second of it.
The thing is that on the Second Life grid, there are many literary events but almost none of them are very welcoming to the conservative, Christian voice. So, it seems someone needs to cultivate that bit of culture there. With no one more qualified stepping up to do this, I guess I’m taking this as God’s call to try to do just that.
Our hope is to go forward in bringing some study and attention to works by other members of the Inklings such as CS Lewis as well others such as TS Elliott and JRR Tolkien and as well other classics that will help other gain a sense of Christian culture. It is my hope and prayer that we might shine a little light and help our brothers and sisters in Christ have another avenue to explore their faith and to maybe shine a little light where it might be helpful.
