Take Five, #1: The Serpent

At tonight’s short form poetry workshop, we engaged in a sort of game of poetic wordplay.  The goal of the game is to take five selected lesser used words and quickly form a dash of poetry from these words.

The first of these relied on the following words:

Take Five #1
1 –sibilant
making or characterized by a hissing sound.
2- ebullience
the quality of being cheerful and full of energy; exuberance.
3- perfidy
deceitfulness; untrustworthiness.
4- lethean
causing oblivion or forgetfulness of the past.
5. ineluctable
unable to be resisted or avoided; inescapable.
From these, formed:
The Serpent
by Michael Romani
The serpent arrived in n his usual ebullience
Eager to demonstrate his brilliance
Caught up in all of his perfidy
In a moment likened to an epiphany
Despite his effort to bring light
His words were more likely to be lethean
Sibilant as is his very right
Before this naked simian
