Take Five, #2: I Come Seeking Wisdom

The second poem from tonight’s short form poetry workshop relied on the following words:

Take Five, Part 2:

1- Pedagogy
The discipline that deals with the theory and practice of education
2 – senescence
the condition or process of deterioration with age.
loss of a cell’s power of division and growth.
3 – truculent
eager or quick to argue or fight; aggressively defiant.
4 – mendicant
given to begging.
5 – bajulate
to carry a heavy burden
I Come Seeking Wisdom
by Michael Romani
I come  to you as a poor mendicant
Drawn in by wafting Gregorian chant
No longer able to be truculent
My inner voice urges me to repent
Feeling the tire of senescence
Caught up and yet feeling reticent
I remain a disciple of your pedagogy
While I bajulate under the strains of your theology
