For My Country

They burned my love
Upon a pyre
I saw her ashes
Scatter on the fire

    The licks of flame...
         Still call out her name...

Some gave blood
And some gave all
Buried there in fields of mud
So that our kingdom would not fall

Proudly we stood
Out there on the battle line
Ready to give as we should
All of this given for this land of mine

      ...All of this given freely
              ...Priceless with tears for my country
