Pleasure and pain
So very close
My life has been
Something of both of them

Sometimes so happy
Other times sad
Both a part of me
In this life that I've had

Singular pursuit of the one
At times leads to the other
Both belt before the setting sun
Sometimes confused for one another

Too often when one comes
The other soon follows
And these like a table of sums
Are the truths that come and go
