Once Upon A Wishing Well

Life is not a fairy tale
With moonlit wishing wells
But a path we must make our own
Walking together or alone
This I know inside my soul
And this knowledge takes its toll

Times spent walking in the night
I sit alone caught up in thought
On a park bench under a streetlight
Dreaming of things priceless, not store bought
Like the memories that we build
And love that you bring and wield

And suddenly you are here
Like a dream I long to hold near
Bringing me love and sweet peace
As my day finds its own release
In a world filled with so much uncertainty
Your kindness brings me my serenity

Since first laying my eyes on you
I have known that you are the one
It's written in all you say and do
And how you make my heart undone
From our first hello, I've truly known
It's only gotten deeper as our love has grown

And now I see there in your eyes
Love burning bright with no disguise
In your arms, I feel your heat
In our hearts, love is complete
I am at home inside your heart
As I have always been from our start
