Based on a sermon this morning that is itself based on Lamentations 3:22-23:

Never Ceasing by Michael Romani With faithfulness never ceasing My love of God is always increasing Feeling the fullness of God's grace Hoping it's reflected on my face It's a new life put on and born again Walking in the light and away from sin Everyone in Christ is a new creation Headed on the journey as it's own destination Changed in the twinkling of an eye Redeemed as our corruption will die At moments we stumble into the old we; Have faith and focus on who we must be At times we will crumble into our old ways Losing our path even as we nurture our new days Surrender in these moments to unceasing prayer Knowing where we're going and focusing there
Never ceasing in our lives reading and receiving Saying no to our temptations; increasing our believing Giving up ourselves in the humble service of others Doing what's needed for all our sisters and brothers Never ceasing, we go forward toward that Holy Day of Pentecost Reaching out not only to the found but to those lost In lurches and searches for our paths along our way This is more a matter of do than to simply say All those things that we know we want so much to do These are things that too often elude us, me and you Unable to abandon the sins that we so harshly despise Sometimes uncertain as to how we will greet the sunrise Still we fight on in a struggle onward to our victory Born conquerors never ceasing despite our worse history Wretched though we sometimes are, we stand strong Clinging to what's right while acknowledging our wrong
I, for one, am ever thankful that we are saved by grace Too often criticizing the man in the mirror's face Never ceasing in my heart felt love and gratitude That a God so great gives me a whole lot of latitude That is not to say I believe I have some sort of free pass Just that I believe love will save me at the very last Never intending or wanting to sin more as I do But hoping as time goes on these transgressions will be few Finding my way to that courage leading to a better man Never ceasing, as I stumble on struggling the best I can And knowing there's one other thing that's never ceasing That God's love for stumblers like me is never decreasing His mercies are started anew and refreshed tomorrow Moving us past our regrets, bringing smiles from sorrow One day at a time, we walk this walk, one day a time Putting away our dull surprises and growing to His shine
There ae two days that mean nothing to Holy Living at all Yesterday and tomorrow, morning by morning we recall Never ceasing in our passions and dreams and romances All lived so much better in the ways of the God of second chances (c) May 21, 2017 Michael Romani
