Something Worth Saying
by Michael Romani
I live for that sacred hope
The hope of something worth saying
And that my words have a scope
Instead of sounding like a donkey braying
Taking notes in the looking back
To move forward to our dreams
Giving it play; just enough slack
Fished into being as real as it seems
In this numbering of days
We only get so many chances
To meaningfully share our ways
Between the smiles, the tears and dances
When my end comes at last
I hope they scatter my ashes to the sky
Spreading the best of me from my past
In a celebration of words as gifts from the past
