To Have Meaning

Woke up sick today, but, worse, feeling a little regret for having skipped the Short Poetry Workshop last night.  Since I usually write two poems at the workshop, I thought I should maybe make up for that in some way.

Devil's Point - Monumental Discovery

To Have Meaning
by Michael Romani

Driven by that desire
A desire to have meaning
Down to the wire
It is more than just being

Pushing forward
Even when misunderstood
Moving toward
That which is seen as good

Going deeper than the win
Back to the places of the heart
Sometimes means to begin again
Revisiting the places we start

These are the places of traction
In helping others to succeed
Giving more sweet satisfaction
In the planting of this seed

    • I’m glad you enjoyed it!! You should probably know that you are kind of living one of my dreams. I’ve always wanted to travel the United States photographing and writing about the beauty and history along the way. I am very glad that you’re getting the chance to that. 🙂

I find solace in the outdoors because my life is really tough which is something I don’t write about here. I think I’d go insane if I don’t find some kind of outlet. I do appreciate the beauty that surrounds me and try to make the most out of it. 😊 I hope you get to live this dream as well sometime soon.😊🏜🛣⛺️🏔

  2. Who knows, right? I had 14,000 photographs from California, the surrounding states, Indiana and the surrounding states, and some other photos from elsewhere. But, I’d love to get back on the road again sometime. Meanwhile, I’ve been exploring a virtual world for all it’s worth and am rapidly approaching getting a replacement 14,000 photographs under my camera belt so to speak. Sad to hear that you’ve been having a rough time. For what it’s worth, you’re now in my thoughts and prayers.
