Monochromatic Whitebox
by Michael Romani
Cut out in intervention
Open to interpretation
Letting in the light
Taking shape as it might
Never knowing, always glowing
Blooming and ever growing
Throwing in your everything
Overlaid with all you can bring

Always doing your own thing
With your own special zing
Adding in that extra something
Where the need was next to nothing
A monochromatic white box
Made up our stage
Late walks and long talks
Turned the playwright's page

Minded set for the tiny theater
Birthed from the mind of the creator
Built into a workout set to revolve
There's no negotiation as we evolve
Inhabitable space
Fills up the frame
With a faith healer's face
Called out in it's own name

Monochromatic epilogue
Speaks the bleakness of monologue
Rainfall provides the dialog
Whispers the peeper in his prologue
