“It will be remembered, that a frequent recurrence to fundamental principles is solemnly enjoined by most of the state constitutions, and particularly by our own, as a necessary safeguard against the danger of degeneracy, to which republics are liable, as well as other governments, though in a less degree than others.” –James Madison, Report of the Virginia Resolutions

In this report you will find that our founders held that there States had certain rights that the Federal Government could not abridge; that the Constitution served as a compact (agreement) between the Federal Government and the States; and that States can nullify Federal laws that they hold to be Unconstitutional.
Time has gradually changed these holdings. Sometimes wisely. Sometimes not so wisely.
The current president is seeking earnestly to return more of the rights back to the States. I believe this to be wise. Others do not. And that is a fundamental cause for the struggles going on in the United States today.
Not that I disagree with others. But that those who hold that the Federal Government has exceeded the limits intended have won election. Those who do not and wish our nation to become more socialistic cannot accept their loss. They have aligned with globalists more closely to try to defeat this attempt to limit the power of the Federal Government at all costs, including our natural liberties handed to us or as it is said ‘endowed’ to us, by God.
I do not approve of many of things said and done by President Trump in his ham handed way. But, I do see that it is perhaps necessary to have a person like him stand up to the powers that be and continue to assume that we should not return to the values and principles of our nation. The methods his opposition have used speak of fascistic tactics including continually seeking to set up false events in a hopefully vain attempt to create a Constitutional crisis and gain power. One need only look at the riots and other acts of bad conduct and follow the money as to who is paying for this to see the reality. The government of the United States as traditionally understood is under threat and it is not by President Trump nor the conservative Republicans.
