There are some very talented artists on the grid of virtual reality known as Second Life. One new exhibit worth taking a look at is called Flash Back/Flash Forward. This production is Giovanna Cerise’s newest installation. It is a dreamy, abstract look at the passage of time. Humanity is always teetering on that fine line between past and present with so few of us able to live in the now and instead commingling both time and space as these create our memories. Cerise’s installation is showing at Split Screen through July 31st.
The installation is curated by Dividni Shostakovic.
There is a yellow daisy located at the base of the exhibit as you walk through it’s grand entrance. By touching this daisy, you ill be teleported to the core of the installation.
You can leave your hats on should you so desire.
Or explore the work along imaginary paths to discover the six small rooms inserted within the work.
The work is a bit Cubist behind its veil at some points:
At other moments it spoke of Monochromatic Dandelions as messengers of light:
Such are the ways and things of dreams.
It’s important to keep one’s perspective on the regional windlight.
