Today’s message at the House of Prayer service was centered on Romans 12:1-8. It s a two part sermon and next week will deal with three obstacles that interfere with our walk with God.
By the Mercies of God by Michael Romani In a thankfulness for attitude I approach the cross with gratitude Grateful for the loving kindness That pulled me from the blindness To become one with the body With God's grace guiding me Thanks be to our merciful God For plowing up life's hardened sod Removing the obstacles in the way Of helping me live my better days Removing the habits of excuse Moving me past all of the self-abuse Inspiring that spark of aspiration Pushing me on with sacred dedication Getting past my stinking thinking Facing the truth without the blinking Dealt with in my attitude of surrender Embracing God's love so very tender Coming now to accepting worship Walking now the fullness of this trip Daily though it is and will always be My living connection to the Divinity All of these self closed doors i open Filled with faith, love, and hoping
Needing to move on past things done It's nothing new under this old sun Living and growing from His forgiveness To become fruitful, so, that I will live this A life fulfilled and without condemnation Still struggling to reach my destination That of a life filled with the quiet victory Glorious to a simple sort of man like me Presenting myself as a willing sacrifice Doing more than hanging on for dear life Knowing a troubled past isn't the present And living the life God gives with intent Confronting that persistent sense of shame Times I held hard to an overwhelming blame The blame of knowing the truth of myself Not blaming it on anything or anyone else Instead removing the reign of sin in my body In that battle to become the very best me Not one of us is so righteous as to be worthy Of the salvation that given by Hs sovereignty Helping us to spiritually mature in a state of grace Even when we stumble and wear it on our face Plainly showing the very sleeves that we wear But knowing that God always gives us care
Society's ills and sins are take much too lightly The results are seen on the evening news nightly This draws in so many over and over again Putting our focus not on truth but on dark sin It's best to leave this and move on and on Focusing on the good things that are not gone We need to leave behind smug spiritual pride There is no special elite when on God's side Though we might indeed do all the right things Always pulling on all the right brass rings We are all, and I mean all, saved by simple grace It's best that we know that this is our place Gossiping about moving to the next level Seemingly unaware of the influence of the Devil Never think too highly and instead be humble We're all just a day away from a tragic stumble All of us need to rely on the Lord's strength If we want to best travel life's blessed length
With God's grace we are no longer the guilty Now we need to be more than the penalty But we must approach and do this so very humbly Not with excessive pride or overly grumbly Approached with a prayer filled with love and care Knowing that our loving God is always there (c) June 4, 2017 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
