Walking In Him

On this passage and from the message, the following poem is based:

Baja Sands - Jesus Saves

Walking In Him
by Michael Romani

In a sort of old fashioned attestment
To the workings of the Old and New Testament
We gather together in His holy name
Hoping we might be without blame
In the things that we testify
Wholly blameless in our reply

I don't need a crisis to turn from sin
But it's at that sort of pivot point
Where we find again and again
That we find salvation as we anoint
In the process of sanctification
Moving toward that implementation

Where we move beyond that desolation
Seeking out our faithful consolation
Beginning that rightful sense of relationship
Entering into as our point of worship
But the process does not complete goodness
Despite how much we might wish this

Reaching out and feeling beyond hopeless
As God reaches out with His merciful caress
Holding us up when we're at out most down
Giving us reason to smile instead of a frown
In a moment of time when we find our need
Feeling the guilt of our thoughts and our deeds

It's not enough to talk about that special grace
We need to grow enough to show and share grace
Bound in the commitment we wear on our face
Having made the choice to turn toward God's embrace
Returning to the promises of God's connection
Allowing His word and holy ways give us direction

A remembrance of cross and the fullness of an empty tomb
Where the light takes us away as the darkness looms
Called to the cross that we might find a way to restore
The goodness of grace of which we plead and implore
Sinners without God battling down on our knees
Repenting in continuing prayer as freedom's keys

Like wise men who have traveled so very far
It's best when we fix our attention to that Holy star
Love of God expressed so complete and tenderly
Avoiding that which would make us seem like Pharisees
Somehow our hope will bring us back to God's right
Even when we think we've reached our very darkest night

Every problem is like a truth of light pollution
Through it all God brings us to our trusted resolution
Depending on the sacred love that calls to us all
Holding us up every time we even begin to fall
Adjustments take us up along our burdened way
In the frequent repentance of our day by day
