“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Over and over, in my life, I have felt like there are things that someone should do something about. The times that I have felt most alive and connected are the times when I stopped waiting for someone else to make the difference. Everyone has a purpose. Our challenge is to find out what it is… and then? Do it.
At the time, though I have my own struggles, I am also very blessed. Every day, I get to help others. I get to be a little bit of the difference that helps out veterans or their remaining family members when my brother and sister veterans are no more. To help out those who are in less than optimal conditions and be just a little bit of the difference.
The most beautiful thing? You can be too. It’s up to you. Are you ready? Step up and be that difference!
