Robert Herrick was a 17th century English clergyman who was also a lyric poet. His most famous book of poems is the Hesperides.

Perhaps the most famous lines that he is most remembered by are:
“Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today,
Tomorrow will be dying.”
There is a lot of truth in these words. Today is all we are promised. So, to paraphrase another set of lyrics, ‘when we see the chance we should take it…” Whatever our dreams or loves might be, these wait for us to take that chance and make them real. Please do.
