Days of Reconnection
by Michael Romani
A solid need for authentication
Takes the photographer back with fascination
To where people do not live in pantomime
And care less as life forms its lines
There as laugh or frowns worn on the face
Welcoming each of us to this very human race
Where a life can be calm and still
Observations are made as you will
Tapping into that human condition
Where no one is trying to be the latest edition
It's a powerfully, beautiful thing
On that makes the photographer's heart sing
It brings an understanding of humanity
In all of its details beyond superficial vanity
Village life continues as it has always
There in these lost and found Grecian days
Brought out in the context of black and white
Played out under the brilliant sunlight
Pure, unadulterated living, breathing sunlight
It truly is the very best sort of light
It is photography alive and kicking
That keeps the artist's heart ticking
Absorbing with an easy humility
In a compassion for simple, blessed dignity
There is an overwhelming sense of connection
As the camera's lense leads in direction
Until in the end you have the authentic
Feeling a sense of Holy in the artistic
Each finds their feet as a human being
When you move beyond that which is seen

Is the lighthouse a picture you took or your drawing? I loved it!

Thank you so much!! I am so glad you like that one. :-))
To answer: Well, actually neither. It’s a photograph I took in the VR grid platform Second Life.
Sometimes I can get fairly realistic photos in that environment. It reminded me of places I’ve photographed elsewhere. You can see other photographs of mine at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/99866533@N05/
You visit a lot of places that I use to visit and photograph. So, I love reading your blog. Lots of really great memories. Sadly, all of my photos from ‘real life’ were destroyed by my ex wife. Over 14,000 photos either destroyed or in the external hard drive.

Thanks! I’ll check out your flickr as well. I just have a thing for lighthouses! I find them amazing 😊

You’ll find many lighthouses. Some of them are very real looking. Some are tinkered with and made to look surrealistic. You can search my photos by using keywords like lighthouse and if I’ve included that word in the title of the photo, you will be able to pull it up to view.
