WordPress #Daily Prompt – July 15 – Moxie

Empire Room - The land of the brave
56 men stepped forward and signed their names to the Declaration of Independence. Having heard that perhaps King George III lacked vision, John Hancock signed his name especially large.  He had perhaps the most to lose.  That took a lot of moxie.

Courage and conviction and a willingness to suffer self sacrifice in the name of freedom, these men determined that they would hang together or win.  All of this was done in the name of the noble experiment in behalf of mankind.  In doing this, the rabble rose against the colossal and formidable British Empire’s might.  They dared this.  It took a lot of moxie.

Four days later the Liberty Bell was rung in celebration.  The fight was on.  But that day, it was a day filled with solemn proceedings and strength of character that saw these men and women through their fears and reasonable concerns.  Rays of hope and prayers of reverent devotion to the Almighty God spread throughout first that area of the country then through out the former colonies. Men gathered, prepared to make their stand.  That took a lot of moxie.

Traitors forfeiting their good names, positions of power and prominence, and all their possessions to a wicked crown that had violated first their rights as Englishmen and ultimately their inalienable rights as Children of God.  Willingly, they put bounties on their own heads.  Understanding government as the sacred trust that God gave some to help govern and protect the inherent rights of people, they put all on the line.  As Benjamin Franklin said so boldly, “Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God”.   It was and is.  It takes a lot of moxie.

The risks these men and those men and women who followed them bore heavy consequences.  Strong consequences at the hands of those who held themselves to be above the law required stronger convictions to withstand.  With the first principles of our nation in mind and in heart, they fought an all out war with everything they had and then some.  Many of these signers lost personal health and wealth, at least one was wounded in battle defending his hometown (Savannah, Georgia), some were taken prisoner; all were willing to give all in the name of sacred freedom and the belief that government was intended to serve the people not the other way around.  That took a lot of moxie.

Taking like stands for freedom and liberty against tyranny and those who believed themselves above the law still goes on today.   In crucial moments of history, be it standing against a British Monarchy out of control or against globalists and those who would implement the oligarchy of world wide socialism, it takes courage to step up and endure sacrifice.  The ideals and first principles of our nation require a commitment to the equality of opportunity and the steadfastness to insist on and even fight for responsible government.  How about it?  Are we the people willing to take that stand? Are we willing to do what it takes to ensure the ideals, dreams and aspirations of our great republic continue in the future for our children and their children’s children?  it will take some moxie.

I cannot answer for others.  But, as for me, count me as all in.
