Peace of God by Michael Romani Matthew 11:28-30 New International Version (NIV) 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Peace of God by Michael Romani In this world of chaos and mess Too often filled with all the stress We wonder if we'll pass the test And know we need to find rest So often under life's pressure Filled with hope we'll measure We place all of our treasure So often in what gives us pleasure Caught up in the drive for more Determined to keep the score Despite the damage that's done Taking the best from everyone We need to find God's better rest Snuggled into knowing we're blessed Going to the Lord, before the Cross Gaining peace instead of feeling loss Taking off the rags and ruins of anxiety Realizing our way into this simplicity Accepting the Lord's love and grace Thriving in the peace of God's embrace There feasting on the bread of life Filling our needs with peace not strife There in the living waters of our life Quenching our thirst through living sacrifice Leaving behind the weariness of empty roads Unburdening ourselves from our heavy loads Gaining strength in heeding the master's call After we find ourselves hitting that brick wall Turning to walk with Christ turning to light Leaving behind the darkness of the night Submitting our lives to follow the teacher Spelled out in the words of the preacher We find peace in Jesus and in Him alone Like the cave when they rolled away the stone Following His footprints across the sands Being and living freed through His commands In doing these things, we join together Connections made to living love forever No spectator sport is found in this walking But peace by living and no longer squawking Peace comes in a Holy attitude we've caught Keeping to the paths of light as we ought Living the truth of righteous fellowship In the closeness of loving Holy worship Leaving behind the days of walking numbly Catching the second winds of living humbly Finding that peace of God lived with dignity Putting all our fears and care in the divinity In coming to Christ to find our best rest This is the final answer to life's big test We find our rest in giving the rest of our days In joining together in following His ways (c) July 16, 2017 Michael Romani All Rights Reserve
