On Becoming Ten

SL 13 Birthday Bash - Electricity - Cake Remmant

On Becoming Ten
by Michael Romani

There you are my true born beauty
My living treasure, Daddy's cutie
Looks like it's that time again
And this time, you're turning ten
The years seem to be flying by
When I think on it, I want to sigh

Watching you grow up I start to see
All things that you are meant to be
The smiles that you always bring
The beautiful songs that you sing
So easy to love in all of your ways
Your presence brings ease to my days

When I asked what you wanted this day
You turned to me to smile and say
All you wanted was to be with me
This I give to you all so freely
Thinking back on all these smiles
Precious in each and every mile

People laugh at all of our little tales
How you turned in the womb knowing well
That on your extended finger I would be
From your moment of conception to eternity
They say that you are daddy's girl
But really you and your sister are all my world

Thank you much for the love that you bring
Dancing with me and the songs you always sing
I hope I deserve somehow all that you are
You and your sister are my brightest stars
But today is yours; it's your special day
Let's smile in celebration and get this under way

Happiest of birthdays to you my little one
Since before you were born, I've been undone
I love you more than you will ever know
I can only hope that this will always show
Happy Birthday, my angelic daughter,
I am so very graced to be your father

Her birthday is really August 2nd, but, life being what it is, I am just blessed to be able to spend some time with her and her sister today celebrating.  I may not get my other usual posts done until later tonight.  I hope that’s okay? 🙂

It’s off to the zoo, art museum, lunch, dinner, ohhh cake.. gotta get a cake right? ….
