A classic example of this might currently be in how much latitude we have been giving the North Koreans in the last four presidents.  Obviously, a huge course correction is needed.

Another example of learning from our lesson can be found in how the Obama Administration trained and weaponized ISIS as a way of dealing with Syria.  Bravo!!  That sure worked well.  Somehow the news keeps missing that ISIS has been shrinking almost daily since dealing with the Trump Administration.

Other examples, might be in how the Republican party recognized the need for the Clean Air Act; the Endangered Species Act; the Clean Water Act; Superfund Clean up; the formation of the EPA and advancement of Civil Rights against the opposition of the Democrats.  Somehow all of this has been forgotten as the Democrats pretended this was all their work and then took it too too far forgetting that people matter too with respect to the environment and that the majority of a citizenry have rights as well.  Time for the GOP to balance that to something far more workable.

And on and on it goes, America always corrects itself and grows stronger after lapsing into ill thought out government for a brief cycle.
