Alien Invasion

I thought I’d try something a little different.  Let me know what you all think, please?

Alien Invasion
by Michael Romani

We look up into the skies
Beholding the infinite stars
And we believe we are alone
We need to be believe
That we are somehow all alone

The truth revealed before our eyes
There in the shapes shifted
From deep within the infinite stars
A thin sheen envelopes as disguise
As the aliens invade this third stone

Hidden before us in plain sight
Taking away our very God
And in doing so, our God given rights

Everything that has happened
Is not what we think
It is far, far worse

This is no plague
No fog of mental confusion
They have come to take

Things we do not want to give
Things that make us what to live
Stand and fight, this is our plight
As we look out on the dark, starry night

It's a conundrum
There in this uneven sum
That numeration of the infinite
It's going to take a miracle
One like those no longer believed in
Or perhaps no longer wanted...
