Short Form Poetry Workshop – Fibonacci- Saying More By Saying Less

Children of the World - Keep The Fires Burning

How do you write a fib?
• There are no official rules for a Fibonacci poem – like a season word or rhyme requirement – but there are guidelines.
o For one – the poem needs to be in Fibonacci sequence – syllables or words
o For another – well – pretty much anything goes
o Where Fibs started as a typical 6 line poem 1,1,2,3,5,8, there have been many variations with much longer poems

Saying More By Saying Less
by Michael Romani

1 My
1 Girls
2 So young
3 Make my day
5 Waking dreams of life
8 The best part shown of my ex-wife

1 Laugh
1 Smile
2 Giggle
3 Love their ways
5 As they cuddle close
8 I am surprised by their sweet thoughts

1 They
1 Are
2 Sublime
3 Saying more
5 By saying much less
8 Through a simple touch of their hands

1 They
1 Love
2 Cuddling
3 As we watch
5 Old movies build dreams
8 That we will one day do and live
