Ali was most of the way there as far as Aloha Promises Forever is concerned.  You see, whether you believe in Adam and Eve or that we crawled out of some primordial ooze, when push comes to shove, we had common ancestors.  There’s a Ma and Pa who started all of this for us.  We are, indeed, one family.  Extended though we are and with a wealth of differences to be celebrated, we are one family.

There is no denying that the exterior may have a different skin tone and other differences, but we’re human.  I learned the hard way – in the military – that we all bleed red.  No one in any of my experience ever bled any other color.  And each of us wept when our friends we served with did just that.

But then, for me, Michael Romani, I’ve had the privilege of living around the world and playing side by side with all kinds of people.  One thing I have learned is that we all have more commonality than difference.  Reiterating a point that should never be missed, those differences that do exist should be a cause of celebration and never, ever hatred.

Hatred of another based on perceived race is just silly.   I won’t go so far as say that’s always true about ideologies.  But, fairly much hatred is a waste of time, drags us all down and causes problems for all of us.  So, where there is an issue about ideology even, perhaps it’s best to allow the marketplace of ideas flow and mingle and that whole process will most likely lead to a whole lot more agreement than desire to fight.

Can I get an amen on this? I am only half way joking about that.  I know that most of us share these same core beliefs.  We need to focus on the good that comes from humanity and put away the churlish ways that divide us.  Don’t we?
