Things Shared

Cheateu Ce Soir - An Evening of Dance

Things Shared
by Michael Romani

Maybe it's as silly as it seems
Telling you of all of my dreams
Spelled out in a songster's serenade
As we dance of old fashioned promenade

But what good is a life, babe,
If it's not shared?
I've made you my wife
Because you really cared

And what good is a smile
If it's not shared?
You've made it all worth while
Because we've dared

What good is this thing called joy
If it's not shared?
I don't mean to annoy
But, the best joy is shared

Your hand in mine, babe,
Is the perfect fit
Laying it on the line
I believe you were heaven sent

Storm clouds come rolling by
But, what's a little rain
I don't have to wonder why
We know our love isn't in vain

Because what good is a dream, babe
If it's not shared?
I know that you love me, babe,
You show in how much you care

And what good is love, babe,
If it's not shared?
I live best in our love made
And all of your love laid bare

I know that when my time has come
It will be your hand in mine
That may seem silly to some
But, I'll lay this on the line

What good is my life, babe,
If you're not there?
I may have traveled a million miles
But, I'll be nowhere
