Time Spent With the Harvard Classics – The Germ Theory – Pasteur

Louis Pasteur died  on September 28, 1895.  

Louis Pasteur lived from December 27, 1822 through September 28, 1895.  He was a biologist, microbiologist and chemist renown for his work with respect to vaccination, microbial fermentation and pasteurization.  He had many breakthroughs as to the cause and prevention of disease.

One of his most important areas of work pertained to the germ theory of disease.  He then applied this to clinical medicine.  He is widely regarded as the father of microbiology.
