On Being A Disciple
by Michael Romani
It hasn't been lost on me
That following Christ can seem costly
But its rewards are priceless
And not just a bit of niceness
What it is that I give
That it is no longer me who lives
But Christ who lives in me
In every moment lived presciently
Pressed on in ceaseless dedication
Is my new life lived with application
There is something in the inspiration
To live for Him without hesitation
Obedience becomes my priority
Words best lived in integrity
Over all these things I might desire
It is as His disciple that I catch fire
Degrees of love lived splendidly
Ceaseless beauty lived and blended
In that contrast that has been made
Growing toward the Son standing in His shade
