Sonic Gems: Queen – A Night At the Opera

A Night At the Opera is the fourth studio album by British rockers, Queen.  The album incorporates ballads, music hall, hard rock and progressive hard rock influences.  It probably best known for Bohemian Rhapsody.  But that’s a song that will be emblazoned in the hearts and minds of a generation of fans forever.

Critics are not as kind as I am.  But then critics have usually never played music nor given live performances.  I don’t see this as an example of overly pompous campiness.  I see it as an expression of music that cast itself in a different way than most rock and for the life of me I see nothing wrong with this.

Perhaps as a sort of final act of rebellion, I’m giving this album a 9 out 10.
