This is still the land of the free and the brave
No matter how many among us are knaves
A land with its allegiance made to freedom
Where the people rule, not a kingdom
Where we salute the Old Glory as our flag
Quite aware of its symbolism and that it’s not a rag
Bended knees belong in service or in prayer
Not in disgraceful gestures that insult many here
Many such as I who signed my name to that dotted line
Pledging my life to protect both thine, ours and mine
You ask me to give and give and yes I gladly still do
But might you not honor what has been done for all of you?
My family and I have given, some a little but some gave all
When you besmirch our republic do you take even a moment to recall?
