“Inspiration does not come like a bolt, nor is it kinetic, energetic striving, but it comes into us slowly and quietly and all the time, though we must regularly and every day give it a little chance to start flowing, prime it with a little solitude and idleness.” – Brenda Ueland, journalist, editor, and writer (24 Oct 1891-1985)

Back in the day, I use to run 10-15 miles at a clip. During this time, I came up with a lot of great ideas. Well, okay, at least I thought the ideas had merit. The thing is that at times we need to somewhat shut off all of the noise in life to truly hear our inner workings without the endless distractions of our day to day. Some get that from meditating. Some like me got it from running.
It’s harder to connect to the sparks of inspiration when we’re always busy doing instead of simply being. Let’s spend some more time being? I think I can pencil that in for……..
