There’s a lot of talk out on the street

About what gentlemen prefer and don’t

I can think of pros and cons we’ll meet

In what will prove important and what won’t

But if you ask me, this attempted gentleman,

I’ll tell you the one thing of which I’m a huge fan

It’s the beauty that comes from the inside

I’ve been humbled by life’s lessons along this ride

And it’s what I’ve learned deeper than anything

Eye candy is fleeting despite what songsters sing

But the beauty from the inside is what matters

It’s what it takes to make love work or watch it shatter

Here both are found in abundance in the same woman

And I?  I will do everything that I can to always be her man
