Caving In

Emerald Caverns - Chase The Rainbow

Caving In
by Michael Romani

Looking around
Sometimes it seems
That what we've found
Is far less than our dreams

Heaven is caving in
It's a sinkhole
That we're living in
Spiraling out of control

Served up
On hot plates
With a sip of our cup
We know this is the wrong place

Am I right?
Or, am I right?
Our best chance is the good fight
To somehow get this thing right

Without too much drama
Despite an aptitude for trauma
It seems we're all faking it
Hoping for our chance at making it

Pushing to be so much better
Than who I really am
Getting myself together
Not settling for the flim flam

Heaven is caving in
It's a sinkhole
That we're living in
Gotta get it back under control

Tagging the walls
Dropping with a freefall
A sign of life that I was here
And meant more than my mother's tears

You know I'm going to learn to be
A somehow, some way better me
Eyes in the light is my philosophy
Wearing truth as my badge of integrity
