A Warrior's Unveiling
by Michael Romani
From birth, a warrior is taught
To do his best in all that he might
May trials come in training for the onslaught
All in preparation for the battles to be fought
All of the world is shown in compromise
Escapes, feints and weapons revealed to his eyes
There is much to be said for self reliance
And caution given toward every alliance
Life pulls back its illusory veil
Light and darkness both conceal
As we fight to stay alive
This truth allows the warrior to survive
Two competing tribes face as rivals
Each only interested in its own survival
But each told the other is the bad seed
They have coexisted but instead will bleed
Until they bleed out like a dangerous fable
It's the story of man since Cain and Abel
They might have been friends but for misconception
Such are the ways of foolish man's self deception
