The American entertainer, singer songwriter Usher Raymond IV was born on October 14, 1978.   At the age of 12, his mother started him in local singing competitions.  In 1994, he released his self titled debut album.  His 2004 album Confessions established him as one of the best  selling artists of the 2000s.  It was bolstered by its four consecutive number one singles.  Confessions showcases Usher as a ‘crooner’ in its mixture of ballads and up-tempo tunes tat incorporated dance-pop, hip hop and crunk.
