Time Spent With the Harvard Classics: The Poetry of Christina Georgina Rossetti

The English poetess Christina Georgina Rossetti was born on December 5, 1830, and passed away on December 29, 1894.  She wrote a variety of romantic, devotional and children’s poems.  Among her most famous are Goblin MarketRemember, and Love Came Down At Christmas.  She is also remembered for being the lyricist for the Christmas carol “In the Bleak Midwinter“.   This carol being to a tune composed by Gustav Holst.
