Time Spent With the Harvard Classics: Plutarch’s Lives – Alcibiades

Aloha Promises Forever has previously discussed both Plutarch and his parallel biographies known as Plutarch’s Lives .  In this post, we will discuss Alcibiades.

Alcibiades, son of Cleinias, lived from approximately c. 450 – 404 BC and was a prominent Athenian statesman, orator and general.  He was from the Alcmaeonidae family which lost its position after the Peloponnesian War.  He served a major role in the end of the conflict as strategic advisor, military commander and politician.
