Day after day, it’s all the more in ready evidence
That some things are a matter of simple Providence
Among these are matters gained by inheritance
Like never realizing the fullness of my impertinence
But, instead insisting that I have a ghost of a chance
In making dreams real in life and even in romance
As long as the music plays, there is hope she’ll dance
And if not there might yet be some other circumstance
That will bring to my life more than cold mockery
As I tickle the ivories and sing out in tune to the key
It’s the song of life, I hear it and know it full well
Full of relevance and easy on the heart to fore tell
That it takes a night of darkness to reach morning’s light
It just takes faith and hope to believe and hold on tight
