Right there in that brilliant moment at the beach

All of the magic and beauty was right in my reach

As I paddled in from surfing the perfect wave

It was a memory to last until I rest in my grave

Finding you there waiting on the ocean shore

Waiting for me to find you and start to explore

That maybe you might just be the one for me

I was certainly open to that distinct possibility

Walking along  leaving footprints on the sand

You and I seemed too blissful, walking hand in hand

Then just as suddenly I heard the alarm clock warning

And woke up to you gone on another empty morning

Oh, if only I could find a way to sleep forever

Then maybe I’d never have to wake up to my never
