Out in the stifling heat just outside of Barstow
Where it as broiling hot even in the shadow
She smiled and gave me her notorious wink
Involuntarily becoming my muse I think
After I had thought my thoughts and some I should not
I realized it wasn’t a metaphor that she was too darn hot
It was really something watching her take a sip
From that long bottle neck as it started to drip
Quietly standing there as she slowly licked her lips
Her swaying summer dress hanging loosely on her hips
I had to stop staring after a good long while
But the thoughts I had left me with a good long smile
All from the image of her under that cool water tower
I think I may just need me an ice cold shower….
