I do not want to seem superstitious
But it seems a little suspicious
That a black cat just crossed my path
Do the math
Oh sure, I get that it was just a Bombay Cat
And I know where that’s at
Nothing harmful and she did give a purr
Still, can you shake the color of her fur?
I keep thinking about how very similar
She is to a witch’s familiar
An omen of misfortune and death
Suddenly, it’s only her and me left
And she wants a scratch behind the ear
Instantly, I know why cats are held dear
