To be more conversant in the art of communication

Is surely for the best of every nation

No matter which way we might tend to lean

It is always better to understand what others mean

It’s our fears that leave us always hesitating

When well meaning folks should always be relating

Closer and better and discussing our similarity

As this will always foster needed familiarity

But also at times our differences must be heard

Now, I know this isn’t something that hasn’t occurred

To every thinking and feeling soul on the planet

But maybe it’s time that we the people demand it

It would be a start wouldn’t it?

And really it couldn’t hurt, not one bit…
