First Principles: Gun Control Laws Only Disarm The Law Abiding

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms … disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.” – Cesare Beccaria

This from the quill of one of the greatest thinkers of the Enlightenment Period.  Very little changes for mankind.  Throughout history, tyrants have always sought to disarm the people.  Those seeking freedom and liberty have always sought to keep the people armed.  And yet, here we go again believing that taking guns from the law abiding is a good answer.  Does mankind never learn from history where this leads?
