The accusation has turned a cat’s meow into a roar

It seems it is time again to put aside the purr for more

Oh you who would judge, do you really think this is easy

At the risk of ruffled fur and coming off too cheesy

You can stand there gaping and say this is totally inefficient

But, at laying in the sun and basking we’re really quite proficient

It takes a lot you, you know, to be still instead of play

But, really can you think of a more perfect sort of way

Than to spend countless hours warming up our insides

While letting the mice go and find new places to run and hide

If you do not think so, by all means, go ahead and give it try

Keep in mind your heard from the cat’s whiskers before you reply

And if you do not mind as long as you are up and around
