Message From the Cross

Without the suffering on the cross
There is only our death and final loss
There is no other Holy name 
We would have only our own blame
There is no other stake to claim
Regardless of popularity's fame

It's a false equivalent to state
That all is one when at the gate
Because it's the narrow path to life
The one that brings love not strife
The one way to God is known 
And in Christ Jesus clearly shown

There's only one absolute talk
That brings us the way to walk
Apparently, error's toleration 
Pulls us from our destination
If we let it have it's deceptive way
Instead of holding fast to Resurrection Day

Sometimes there is only one right answer
And other pleasures are but quiet cancer
Spreading and destroying despite their call
Like a siren's voice that we sadly recall
Instead of listening close to the truth
When we should and teach it to our youth

Only the cross reminds us to live in prayer
Keeping in the light with our Savior there
Living life with love and filled with Grace
Loving our living God, looking face to face
I found myself by finally learning to lose me
Accepting His yoke of freedom and Holy Divinity
