The Na/GloPoWriMo challenge on day 8 is to write a poem based in some way on magic. I will catch up with these poems eventually. If anyone is following along, I apologize for the lack of timeliness.
The Magic of Words by Michael Romani There is something fairly sad, even tragic In that some question the truth of magic Our age of skepticism may have been earned In all of humanity's lessons ill learned But there is a level of spiritual deprivation That we value logic over heart and imagination We look at art and listen to music daily Things that interest me but rarely pay me As we experience these sorts of things We have each felt the feelings these bring And still question these points of light Despite their vindication in our loving nights Words pour out from every earnest soul Sometimes flowing too much even out of control As emotions churn and memories linger and burn Which is which and what is what we try to discern As we live these moments of magic going by We often find two corresponding hearts reply In this we find perhaps the answer to this all An internal truth we must reach for and recall There is more magic in this world than we know We only have to be willing to go with the flow We find the most powerful magic to be found Is the one so many of us chase around and around The most powerful magic we must learn to see Is the attraction between two hearts in verity Three little words that make or break our hearts Giving power to our dreams from their very start These three little words add up to action to do And are found expressed simply, deeply as I love you (c) April 8, 2018 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
